Indictments

Written over a span of several years, this poetry collection brings together verse about injustice in many forms. Count I turns to wrongs in politics and society. Count II focuses on the mistreatment of children. Count III addresses the Vietnam War and the injustice of that conflict, and Count IV gathers a varied set of poems on the unfairness built into creation itself.

The poems are not autobiographical. Many grow out of things the poet saw and experienced over the course of his life, while others respond to political and social events of the time.

Read as a whole, the collection offers a reflection on American society and on the universe beyond it.
