About this book
Brooke Metcalf is a successful therapist who has slipped into a rut she cannot seem to climb out of. Tegan Cooper has just finished her degree and is trying to get her bearings in a new city before she starts the job she has spent years working toward. Each is nudged by good friends to go out, and they land at the same bar. They seem to share little beyond a wish to do something different, but a spark and an instant attraction lead them to take chances neither would usually take.
The night ends in a one-night stand that leaves both women feeling affirmed and at peace. That calm lasts until Monday morning, when they arrive at work and discover that Tegan is the new junior colleague, placed under supervision, at the practice where Brooke works.
Unprepared for the consequences of one out-of-character encounter, the two lean on their careers while they try to build a working relationship without putting their hearts at risk. Supportive colleagues and a shared determination to treat everyone in the office fairly help them form a friendship grounded in care and respect for boundaries. But therapy is a profession of intimate conversations and vulnerable moments, and the line between professional and personal keeps blurring, because the pull between them is too strong to ignore.
