Invincible Days

Patrick Atangan both writes and illustrates these linked short stories, which together trace one continuous story. Each vignette captures a small moment when a person first senses that childhood is ending. The material draws on Atangan's own boyhood and on recollections shared by friends and relatives.

The stories mix psychological depth with reflection, and the spare, simple drawings give the pages a feeling of youth. The mood moves between wistful, happy and thoughtful, focusing on the everyday experiences that later shape who we become as grown-ups.
