For nine years, ever since the Fae took her mother, cursed her father, and sent her family into hiding, Bryn has been teaching herself everything she can about how to kill them. Now the danger has arrived in earnest, and she is finally ready to put that knowledge to use.

When the Court Fae make their presence known, Bryn realizes she cannot face them alone. Three unexpected allies step forward: Gwen, a warm-hearted water witch; Dom, a newly fostered teen who has been swept into this hidden world; and Jasika, a classmate with her own reasons to hate the Fae. Bryn's new bonds are still fragile, and the trust she has started to build is tested when she finds a book of Fae magic that once belonged to her mother.

As the threat grows every day, Bryn must decide whether to rely on the friends who have just started standing beside her or to reach for a power that could cost her what makes her human. Along the way she also contends with panic attacks, strained family ties, and a lesbian love triangle. This paranormal young adult debut is by C.M. McGuire.
