J vs. K

J and K are the two most gifted and imaginative fifth graders at Dean Ashley Public School, known as DAPS. J loves to draw and tells wordless stories, while K loves to write, and each is convinced the other is merely second best.

Both want to win the school's annual creative storytelling contest, or at the very least finish in the top five. When each discovers the other has entered too, it kicks off a fierce rivalry. It is artist against writer, with plenty of sneaky double crosses along the way as each boy schemes to come out on top.

This illustrated comic story was created by Kwame Alexander and Jerry Craft, who are real-life rivals themselves. It celebrates comics, creativity and the power of working together.
