Jack's Planet
About This Book
Jack's Planet is the third book in John Hindmarsh's Jack Foster space opera series. The two books before it opened the series with strong momentum. Jack has agreed to take the Tirarge, a species nobody knew about until he rescued them, back to their home world. The journey is harder than it sounds. The Tirarge are telepathic and cannot speak aloud, and they have no idea where their home system is. A hostile starship is also trailing Jack's ship, Fearless, probably intent on revenge. Things get more complicated when Jack discovers that two other species live on this uncharted planet, and they cannot speak either. Jack cares about the troubles facing the planet and its people, but he holds no official standing there. What he commands is Fearless, his three robotic companions, the Eagles, SAC scouts, a squad of Black Company marines, a warrior squad of Tirarge, and an AI or two. The planet's rulers, disregarding ordinary diplomatic custom, settle the matter in a bold way. They rename their world and make Jack its owner. The title is engraved on a huge diamond, a gem worth more than Jack could ever imagine. The planet is now called Jack Foster's Planet. New enemies are on their way, possibly including a GalFed destroyer or two, and the planet needs defending. Jack and his crew, which keeps growing, set out to help their new friends against slave traders and illegal mining. The author is an established, best-selling writer on Amazon.
