Jen's Red Hen

A hen named Red belongs to Jen, and this early reader follows the ways Jen looks after her. Written at reading level A, the text is decodable, and it repeats sight words and vowel sounds to help beginning readers build confidence. Original artwork helps guide readers through the story.

Cecilia Minden, Ph.D., created the text and its format. She is a literacy consultant and was formerly director of the Language and Literacy program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The book also includes an author biography and a phonetics section.
