Journey

One day you may look into the mirror and find a stranger staring back, someone who no longer seems like the person you were some forty years earlier. The writer is not concerned with physical appearance, since the body is expected to change over a lifetime. Instead, the reflection draws on 2 Corinthians 4:16, where Paul explains that although the outer self wastes away, the inner self is renewed day by day.

While gazing at that unfamiliar reflection, the writer is struck by a question: what became of the person they once were? The piece asks where things went wrong and how they might be repaired.
