Katarina

Set during the Second World War, the story follows a young Jewish orphan who lives under the care of her aunt and uncle. Her life changes when authorities gather her together with other Jewish people, and she is placed with a family of peasants in the countryside. Once her background comes to light, the household sends her away, and she drifts from one village to the next. Bewildered by the danger surrounding her, she clings to a strong conviction that she will one day be reunited with her relatives.
