Killing Floor

Jack Reacher has no home, no schedule and no particular destination. A former military policeman, he drifts from place to place, and his route has brought him to Margrave, Georgia, a small town he only means to pass through. He doesn't get the chance. Within an hour of arriving, he is under arrest for murder.

Reacher knows he didn't commit the crime, at least not in this town and not recently. Knowing it and proving it are different things, though, and the people of Margrave aren't inclined to listen to a stranger who turned up out of nowhere. Killing Floor is the novel that introduced Reacher, and it is told in his own voice. It launched the long-running Jack Reacher series, which has since been adapted for television.
