Addie Macrae is a travel consultant who has always followed her wanderlust. She jet-sets around the world and never stays anywhere long, which suits her fine. Then she is sent to help a struggling family-run tour company in Scotland, the one place she swore she would never go. She tucks away her emotional baggage and switches on the professional charm.

Logan Sutherland thinks his family business is running perfectly well. The Heart of the Highlands was never meant to make the family rich. Its purpose is to teach visitors to value Scotland's hidden gems. The last thing he wants is an American expert pushing Outlander-themed tours and feeding myths about the Loch Ness Monster. For a keen traveler, Addie also seems oddly uninterested in the land he loves. Put off by each other, the two clash over every decision the company makes.

Then Logan learns Addie's secret link to Scotland. It was her late mother's favorite place, and it lives on in a handful of faded Polaroids from her parents' honeymoon. Logan believes he can help Addie find some closure by taking her to the places in the pictures. When she agrees, they discover they work well together.

But Addie's contract with The Heart is nearly up, and the business is still failing. They cannot afford distractions, yet the tension between them has turned into intense chemistry that is too easy to give in to.
