Lavish Corruption

Hensley's narrator has spent years doing exactly what everyone expects of her and never stepping out of line. She decides she is finished playing it safe, especially where Walker St. Claire is concerned. He is her older brother's closest friend, a man she has long been told to keep at a distance, and he is currently an Initiate working through the Trials required to join a secret society.

When she turns up at one of the society's parties, they are suddenly face to face. Walker's first move is to have her removed, but circumstances and his own needs push them together. For the first time she gets what she has wanted for years: his hands on her. In an intimate moment she kneels before him, and he starts to see her as a woman rather than the younger sister of his friend.

One encounter is not enough for either of them. When she goes back for more, she is pulled into something far more perilous than she expected. A young woman has disappeared, and the narrator is chosen to take the missing girl's place at Walker's side.
