Layoverland

Beatrice Fox is convinced she belongs in hell. On her last day on Earth she wrecked the life of the person she loves most, her little sister Emmy. So when Bea wakes up after a fatal car accident and finds herself on an airplane bound for an unknown destination, she has no idea what is happening.

When the plane lands, she learns she is in purgatory. Her way out is a flight to heaven, but she can only earn it by helping five thousand souls work out what is stopping them from moving on. One of her first assignments is Caleb, the boy who caused her accident and the last person she wants to send through the pearly gates. She would happily watch him suffer for condemning her to an endless future of bad airport food and other people's problems. The trouble is that he is kind of cute and sort of sweet, and she may be falling for him despite her best efforts.

Layoverland is the debut novel of Gabby Noone. It is a darkly funny and warm-hearted take on the afterlife, about second chances, first loves, and friendships that turn up in unlikely places.
