Legion

Dan Abnett's novel is set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, on the brink of the civil war that will tear the Imperium of Man apart. The Alpha Legion, the most secretive of the Space Marine chapters, is sent to a backward world to aid the Imperial Army in suppressing a rising of unnatural threats. Their true motives remain unclear. The reader is left to wonder whether these warriors can be trusted and which side they will take once the Heresy erupts. As loyalties come under strain, the scheming of an alien intelligence comes to light, and the future of humanity is left in the balance.
