Let It Snow

Christina Antonioni runs a toy shop on the wharf in Nantucket, and the Christmas season is her busiest time. She spends the weeks before the holiday unpacking late shipments and dressing the store for the customers who return to her every year. Then her landlord, a notoriously stingy man named Oscar Bittlesman, raises her rent, and keeping the shop open suddenly looks close to impossible.

Christina refuses to believe that Oscar is as hard as he seems. Her hope grows when his young granddaughter, Wink, starts dropping by the shop often and the two of them become fast friends. The girl's affection for Christina hints that the old man may have a softer side after all.

Helping matters along is Wink's uncle, a charming and very good-looking bachelor who has his own reasons to spend time around the shop. As the season goes on, small kindnesses and unlikely friendships begin to thaw the chill around the wharf, and Christina may find that the holidays hold more for her than she planned for.

Let It Snow is a warm Christmas love story by Nancy Thayer, set against the wintry charm of Nantucket. It was adapted into the Hallmark movie Nantucket Noel.
