Let's Play Murder

Veronica opens her eyes to find herself in an enormous country house cut off by snow, sharing the space with four people she has never met and a corpse. Everything feels convincingly real, but the setting is a virtual reality. She has entered THE Game, a supposed hidden bonus buried in other VR titles, which offers a prize far bigger than anything she could imagine. Nobody can leave the virtual world until the Game is won, and the opening scene has the tight, classic feel of a golden-age whodunit.

As Veronica and the other players work through the puzzle, the simulation starts to malfunction. Blackouts and glitches appear, non-player characters act oddly, and a shadowy figure seems to trail the group. When one player dies in the game and also dies in real life, the contest is overtaken by a darker, far more real mystery: who is behind the killings?

Veronica never intended to play, yet her survival depends on winning, and the price of losing is her life.
