Library Suicides

Twin sisters Ana and Nan are still adrift after the death of their mother, Elena, a celebrated novelist. Everyone believes that Eben, the critic who had championed her work for years, drove her to take her own life. The twins want to hold him to account, but without proof they have no way to make anyone else see what they see.

When Eben asks to read Elena's diaries at the National Library, where the sisters work, they recognise an opportunity. They plan carefully to lock down the building's labyrinth of rooms and passages, trapping their colleagues, the public and, above all, Eben himself.

The plan begins to fall apart when a rogue security guard starts releasing the hostages. What starts as a plan for payback grows into something far more tangled, as loyalties shift, motives blur and the sisters are forced to question what it really means to be who they are.
