Light Chaser

Light Chaser is a science fiction adventure by Peter F. Hamilton and Gareth L. Powell. Its central idea is that a love strong enough to outlast death could bring down an entire empire. Amahle is a Light Chaser, one of a number of explorers who travel the universe alone, with only their onboard AI for company. They trade trinkets in exchange for people's life stories. While listening to stories passed down through the ages, Amahle keeps hearing the same voice, speaking directly to her from different times and different worlds. She realizes that something terrible is happening and that she alone is positioned to act. Setting it right will cost her everything.
