Light in Shadow

Zoe Luce has built a good life as an interior designer in Whispering Springs, Arizona, and she has found a niche that suits her: clients who have just come out of a divorce and want their homes made over so they can leave the past behind. She knows better than most that a fresh coat of paint only goes so far. When one client seems to be concealing something dark, Zoe turns to private investigator Ethan Truax to find out what it is.

The two of them get to the bottom of the case, but only just survive it. The trouble is that Ethan is very good at his job, and his skills are now pointed at Zoe herself. She has kept hidden a strange and powerful ability to sense the history held within the walls of a house. She has also kept hidden that the name Zoe Luce is not really hers, and that she once lived a very different life. Worst of all, in the middle of all this secrecy she has fallen in love with him.

The people Zoe has been running from have now tracked her down, and she may have no one to rely on but Ethan, however much she wants to keep him at a distance. Just as she lets herself picture an ordinary life and a future with him, her past closes in again and threatens to drag her back into the nightmare she escaped.
