Lion's Shadow

On 17 December 1983, in the middle of the Christmas season, the IRA bombs Harrods, one of London's best-known stores. The city is gripped by fear. Every security force is mobilized, from the Metropolitan Police to the intelligence services that rarely acknowledge their own existence. Borders are closed, and homes and businesses are raided, yet there is no trace of the people responsible.

One man did see the bombers. Lucas Burnside, on security detachment at the Australian High Commission in London, was out doing his Christmas shopping when a small car pulled up next to him right outside Harrods. The blast injured him, and now he can recall only scraps of what he saw.

British Intelligence officer Kendra Abernathy recruits a psychologist who runs a secret program, hoping it will help Lucas piece together the truth. Together they must track down the cell behind the attack before it can strike again and cause another holiday massacre.
