Lost Empire

Sam and Remi Fargo, a married pair of treasure hunters, are diving off the coast of Tanzania when they find a relic from a Confederate ship that disappeared long ago. Something about the object doesn't add up, and their curiosity pulls them into a puzzle they can't leave alone.

They are not the only ones looking. Mexico's ruling party, the ultranationalist Mexica Tenochca, wants the same artifact, because it holds a secret capable of bringing the whole party down. The Fargos soon learn that the people racing them are ruthless and that a dictator's regime has every reason to stop them.

The trail leads through Tanzania and Zanzibar, into the rainforests of Madagascar, and across the Indian Ocean to Indonesia and the site of the 1883 Krakatoa eruption. Each stop raises the stakes, and only one side will reach the answer first. For the losers, the price is death.

Lost Empire is part of Clive Cussler's Fargo Adventures series.
