Lumberjack

A city in Nebraska, 1901. A curse has settled over Arbor Lodge, and a creature of the open plains is taking the house back in the prairie's name. J. Sterling Morton, the statesman who owns the place, is growing frantic. Neville, a lumberjack, sees an opening in the trouble. He has always wanted the world to recognize him as a real man. Morton offers him regard, stability, and pride, and even the father figure Neville never had. The only requirement is that Neville find the creature and kill it.

Neville has no doubt that this task will earn him a place among the legends. He is sure he will succeed, since it runs in his blood. If he fails, though, his blood will be spilled across the prairie instead.
