Earth's cities go dark, and a stillness settles over our small region of space. With that silence, the calm the world once knew is gone. Adam is seventeen and, like most people his age, he is caught up in his own ambitions, anxieties and hopes. His birth, however, is remembered as one more milestone in humanity's progress. Then his surroundings start to fall apart. Adam and the people nearest to him must make choices where the outcome could mean survival or death, and very little time remains to make them. The story follows Adam through this crisis.
