Madame

The narrator is a professional dominatrix who goes by Madame. She has built her life on keeping clients at a distance, watching them drift in and out without ever letting one stay. She also guards a secret that she intends to protect at any cost.

Her rules are tested when Clay Bradley, a self-assured and handsome man who takes a submissive role, works his way past her defenses. She ends things with him for good, and he accepts her decision. Months later, he reappears by chance, this time with Jade, a striking woman who has a proposal of her own: she wants Madame to teach her.

Madame knows she should refuse. Training a woman who unsettles her is hard enough, and Jade is dating the man who still holds a piece of Madame's heart. The situation grows more tangled because both of them now know her secret, and neither seems willing to let go. Madame must work out how to protect what is hers while she is also drawn into the lives of the two people who see her most clearly.
