Maelstrom

Kezari is a dragon shifter who owns no hoard, having surrendered everything she had to halt a poison she sensed on Earth. The Moranaian elves have welcomed her, but she feels unmoored in a homeland whose customs and expectations differ from her own. Her sense of unease deepens when she is assigned to transport healing potions alongside Tynan, a mind healer she finds maddening. She cannot decide whether she wants to shove him away or kiss him.

After a mishap in his youth, Tynan devoted himself to sharpening his gifts of mind healing and empathy. His posting at Braelyn proves the hardest test of his career. What was meant to last a few days drags into weeks as traumas and mysterious plagues pile up. The greatest danger, though, is Kezari, whom he is certain is his soulbonded. Her proximity keeps tugging at his grip on his empathy, and he knows that losing control of that gift would be catastrophic.

Trouble is brewing among the dragons. When Kezari meets the ancient dragon Caeregas, she learns how far the problem reaches and feels bound by honor to resolve it. Her best chance at success may depend on working with the very mind healer she cannot stand, and she and Tynan must learn to cooperate quickly.
