Magpie

Marisa believes she has the life she always wanted with Jake. That security is shaken when Kate moves into their home as a lodger.

Marisa cannot shake the feeling that Kate is not who she appears to be. Perhaps it is the way Kate looks at Jake, or how she settles right beside Marisa on the sofa, or the constant questions about the baby the couple are hoping to have. Jake insists the unease exists only in Marisa's mind, and Marisa wants to trust him. Still, she is sure that the woman living under their roof will stop at nothing to get what she wants, even though Marisa cannot say why. The story asks how far Marisa will go to find out, and how much she may lose along the way.
