Make Up Break Up

Annika Dev believes in love, romance, second chances and fairy-tale endings. Her app, Make Up, has been called the Google Translate for failing relationships. Hudson Craft believes in efficient break-ups, flashy start-ups, penthouses and fast cars. His app, Break Up, is known as the Uber for break-ups, and its huge success is the opposite of everything Annika stands for.

The two might never have had to deal with each other after a summer fling in Las Vegas. Instead, Hudson moves into Annika's office building, into the office right next to hers. He is also competing in the prestigious EPIC investment pitch, a contest Annika must win to keep Make Up afloat. Her business is struggling while his face appears on magazine covers, and she is sure he stole her idea and turned it into something vile and far more profitable.

As the rival app developers clash again and again, Annika is pulled into Hudson's fast, high-velocity and seemingly shallow world. Up close, though, he doesn't seem so shallow after all. Lily Menon's novel asks whether Annika has been wrong about him, and whether the creator of Break Up might have something to teach her about true love.
