Mark Them Softly

Mark has been in love with Yriel since the day they met. Every heat, he has ended up in Yriel's bed, yet the two will never be true mates. Yriel is afraid of what could happen to Mark. He also fears the judgment that falls on omegas like himself, those who refuse to submit to their alphas.

Elsewhere, forty years have passed since Heofan of Grey and their child died, and the wolf shifter Shaw has not found a new mate. He is not searching for one either, since he is tired of the hunt and doubts a male is meant for him. Perhaps, he wonders, there are two. The fates have blessed the home of his living son and brought peace between Aurelius and the grims. Then a whisper reaches Shaw, and neither he nor his wolf can ignore it: his mate is close.

Yriel Nicodemus has lived a long life guarding secrets that would overturn the very nature of vampire society if they came out. The peace he has built and the lives he has saved would all be at risk should anyone learn the truth. When the worst finally happens, everyone will know what Yriel did, but with his mates and family beside him, the road ahead looks clear.
