Micah

Much of the book of Micah likely took shape as part of a larger collection of prophetic texts, possibly one of twelve. Reading it well therefore means reading it within that wider framework. Doing so reveals something important about how the Hebrew Bible came together: its prophetic voices were less isolated individuals than shared witnesses to how God acted among his people across their history.

Zapff first examines the text as it stands in its final form, then works backward through its composition, tracing how the Micah material and its theological message developed over time.
