About this book
Michael Roberts works as an entrepreneur, author, speaker and trainer, and he calls himself the Epidemic Educator. His message centers on building confidence, ending bullying, and living a healthy, fit lifestyle. Through an 11-step program, he addresses depression, suicidal thoughts, alcoholism and drug addiction, and he presents his 11 steps to success as a path away from those struggles. He also offers one-on-one training, speaking engagements and novels, and his website is www.TheMichaelRobertsProject.com.
Roberts shares his own history in the text. He grew up with an abusive mother and an alcoholic father, and he became an alcoholic at 13 and a drug addict by 15. At 17 he attempted suicide by jumping from a 250-foot cliff, and doctors told his family he would not survive. After waking from a three-week coma with a badly bruised brain and serious injuries, he faced uncertainty about whether he would walk, talk or function normally again. He spent two years in rehabilitation relearning those skills and says he made a full recovery.
At 20 he moved to Los Angeles, and by 22 he had started his first business with little money and no business background. He says he went on to succeed as an entrepreneur for the following three decades. His stated goal is to help people of all ages leave destructive paths and build lives around success, and the book is written for readers who want that kind of direction.
