Midas Game

Dr. Liz Sullivan, a respected psychiatrist, is found dead in her bed, and investigators quickly focus on Jaden Dodds, a local gamer with a large following on YouTube. Was he chosen because Sullivan openly opposed gaming and had spent her career documenting the harm that online games can cause? Her connection to Valiant, a small independent games developer on the verge of wider success, and to the company's unpredictable head adds further questions.

Constance Lamb and Judith Burton, who have worked together before, return to take on Jaden's defence, even though the police are convinced he is responsible. The case turns on a hard question: a man who makes his living by simulating killing on screen may not be capable of doing it in real life, but can anyone be certain?
