Midnight Fair

This picture book tells its story without any words, relying entirely on its artwork. Its setting is a fairground that sits away from the city yet stands just short of open countryside. Once darkness settles and no visitors remain, the place changes in a way nobody sees. Woodland animals step out from among the trees, and a determined raccoon takes hold of a lever. The roller coasters and rides flare back to life in glowing neon, and the forest creatures set off to enjoy the evening themselves.
