Midnight Shadows

Melissa Langston left Georgia behind and returned to the small Florida town where she grew up, hoping a new surname would keep her out of reach. It doesn't. Unsigned notes start appearing on her doorstep, and she senses someone watching from the dark. Her stalker's pursuit feels real to her, but local police are unconvinced that she's in any real danger.

The one person who takes her fears seriously is Chris Jamison, the former police officer who ended their engagement years earlier. He has come home to handle matters concerning his family, and Melissa knows that getting close to him again would be dangerous for her heart. Yet the more she relies on the man she never got over, the more her stalker fixes on Chris as an obstacle to be removed for good.
