Midnight Sun

Midnight Sun is Stephenie Meyer's retelling of Twilight from the point of view of Edward Cullen. Readers of the Twilight Saga have so far followed the story through Bella Swan's eyes, and have heard from Jacob Black as well. This book finally gives them Edward's side, along with a look at the thoughts of the people around him. It was released in August 2020.

The story begins as in the first book. Edward is a vampire who lives with his adoptive family in the small town of Forks, Washington. When Bella Swan arrives as a new student, his carefully controlled existence is thrown into turmoil. Edward can hear the thoughts of nearly everyone nearby, yet Bella remains a mystery to him, and he is both drawn to her and dangerous to her.

The novel is part of the Twilight Saga, which begins with Twilight and continues through New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. The first four books were adapted into a film series. Midnight Sun is a companion to those books and is best read after Twilight.
