Milo Walking
About This Book
Each morning, Milo sets out on a walk with his mother, and every outing reveals something worth noticing. After a night of rain, a puddle has appeared, and Milo greets the boy he spots looking back from its surface. Stopping to listen, he picks out the buzzing of bees, which seem to have plenty to tell him. In the park, a tree looks downcast, so Milo offers it some comfort, promising to return the next day and expecting it to be cheerful by then. Each day brings new discoveries, familiar places seen in a fresh way, and the make-believe, what-if thinking that his imagination keeps spinning. This picture book by James Howe, who also wrote Bunnicula, has full-color illustrations by Sakika Kikuchi. Its gentle focus is on paying attention to the everyday world, finding wonder in ordinary surroundings, and wondering what tomorrow might bring.
