Minecraft Crafter's Kitchen

The Crafter's Kitchen is an official Minecraft cookbook with sixty recipes, written to give young cooks the skills to start a lifelong love of cooking. It also teaches lessons about caring for the environment. It sets out as a food journey across both the Overworld and the real planet Earth.

The guide is a Minecraft chef called the Gourmand, who views Earth with wonder and some concern. In the Gourmand's world, apples never come in plastic bags, every ingredient has its own story and place in nature, and everyone composts.

The recipes suit kitchen beginners and children cooking with their parents. Each chapter takes on a different Minecraft biome, from the deepest ocean to the highest mountain. It pairs easy, tasty recipes with environmental issues facing similar places in the real world. Examples include Garlicky Ratatouille Kabobs and Banana Dulce de Leche Batido alongside cleaning up a beach, Applesauce Snacking Cake and Chicken Cacciatore alongside starting a garden, and Cardamom Bear Paws and Swedish Meatballs alongside supporting wildlife refuges.
