Minotaur Boy

Alex is twelve and doing his best to get through school, the school musical and puberty, which is bad enough without a secret on top of it. He is part minotaur: half boy, half bull. On top of the spots and the embarrassing parental "talks", he has to cope with horns and hairy toes that he'd much rather nobody noticed. Things get worse when a new boy called Theseus joins his class. Theseus has come with a purpose: he wants to capture a minotaur. A clumsy, self-conscious target like Alex looks like the easiest catch he could hope for, and suddenly Alex has a demigod on his trail as well as everything else. Shane Hegarty takes the Greek myth of the minotaur and drops it into the ordinary awkwardness of growing up. The result is a funny, warm-hearted adventure full of mythological mayhem, and it speaks to anyone who has felt different or struggled to fit in.
