Moonshadow

Moonshadow has all the atmosphere and tension of a good gothic romance — menacing shadows and half-heard voices, a child's cries, and an enigmatic bridegroom. When Madeleine comes to Steyning Hall, her new home, sunset stains the windows the color of blood — and the lady's fears grow with the rising of the moon. She longs for Justin, her new husband, to take her in his arms, to offer her the comfort his ardent wooing had promised. Yet, now that Madeleine is his bride, Justin seems a stranger. Then, Madeleine finds herself entangled, waking and sleeping, in shadowy lives from the distant past. She's caught up in memories of Lady Lenore, a Saxon beauty who had the misfortune to catch the fancy of the brutal Norman knight, Lord Giles de Harcourt. Lenore and Giles — dead for centuries — are soon more alive to Madeleine than anyone in the present. Will she awaken from the shadows — or become one of them herself? Penelope Neri has crafted a dark tale of romance and danger.
