MOONSHiNE

Published by R&R Press, MOONSHiNE is the first poetry collection from Teré Fowler-Chapman, an award-winning Black trans poet. The book took more than ten years to come together. Its poems record and reflect on the experience of a trauma survivor living in the American Southwest, looking closely at what it means to exist as both a Black person and a trans man.

The writing is carefully crafted but candid, choosing honesty over affectation. Written in free verse, the poems speak directly and personally, offering a clear-eyed account of the speaker's life and identity rather than an ornamented one.

Readers looking for a distinctive account of Black and trans experience in contemporary free verse will find it here.
