About this book
In her book, The Moral Truth Test , Elizabeth Wentwerth provides compelling evidence that the Bible is NOT the “Word of God” and is NOT infallible. In actuality, the Bible is a collection of many types of written word by its many Jewish authors, and these individual writings demonstrate the authors’ evolving beliefs about God. Moral codes attributed to God in the Old Testament became obsolete after the New Testament. Two thousand years later, among people of “developed” nations, many moral standards have evolved beyond the pages of the Bible. The heated division in society today over what is morally right and wrong is in some part caused by Christian teachings that the Bible is infallible and morals are “written in stone.” But the Bible fails in this regard; it is an imperfect moral guidebook. The author proposes an alternate method to determine what is moral by applying Christ’s core teaching of unselfish Love, as well as using human intellect, reason and science. She applies this method, “The Moral Truth Test,” to multiple issues of moral concern, homosexuality, abortion, marriage and divorce, CRSPR, and physician-assisted suicide. The author’s intent is to help alleviate the confusion and division over controversial moral issues.
