Mosquito

This short nonfiction title introduces the mosquito to beginning readers, noting that the insect has six legs. Written with fewer than twenty distinct words, it lets young children learn about insects while growing their reading fluency.

The text relies on short sentences, sight words and bright photographs to guide very new readers through an informational topic. Every book in the I See Insects series includes a note for parents and caregivers with tips on supporting a child's reading, along with a word list and activities to do after reading.

The book is part of the I See Insects series and is pitched at Guided Reading Level C.
