Murder Rule

Fans of tightly wound psychological suspense, in the vein of Ruth Ware and Tana French, will find much to enjoy here. At its heart is a story about a mother and daughter. One is desperate to escape a dreadful truth, while the other is determined to expose it. As their lives collide, the plot takes sharp and surprising turns.

The narrator presents herself as an idealistic young law student who wants to reform a corrupt and brutal justice system. Others see an eager newcomer working hard to make a good impression, and they believe she has come to rescue an innocent man on death row. She has her own plan, built on three rules: first, win people over; second, make them depend on you; third, make them pay. Her real aim is to bury him.

This novel comes from Dervla McTiernan, an internationally bestselling author best known for The Scholar and The Ruin.
