Never Seen Again

A decade ago, Jodie Martindale and her boyfriend were abducted. His body was discovered the following week, but Jodie vanished without a trace and has never been seen again. David Kelman, a journalist who once ranked among the best in his field but has since lost his standing, comes into possession of a phone that belonged to Jodie's brother, obtained by unlawful means. On it sits a voicemail, left two years ago, that no one has ever played. The voice on the recording is unmistakably Jodie's. What begins as a fixation soon consumes Kelman, drawing him through a maze of deceit toward a grim and fatal truth.
