Neverness

Neverness is set in a far-future galaxy crowded with strange species and machines. The Alaloi have deliberately reverted to a Neanderthal way of life. The Order of Pilots bends the rules of time and physics so its members can cross the dense zones of thickspace. The Solid State Entity is a huge mind built from biocomputers the size of moons. The leldra, a legendary people, are said to have seeded the galaxy with their DNA long ago, setting evolution in motion.

Mallory Ringess is a reckless young novice in the Order of Pilots. Despite the odds, he has managed to get inside the Solid State Entity, and there he makes a discovery. It may point to a way to achieve immortality, a secret tied to the Alaloi.
