New Masters

Shobo and Shof Coker are Nigerian brothers and recipients of a 2019 grant from Creators for Creators. Their comic New Masters imagines a future West Africa ruled by alien colonizers. Into this world come a group of misfits who never expected to matter, and they soon find themselves competing with others for an ancient relic of enormous power.

The book mixes science fiction with action and drama, and its look and themes draw on Afrofuturism. The story focuses on the outsiders and the dangerous race to control the artifact, with the setting's colonial history shaping every choice they make.

This edition collects issues #1 through #6 of the series.
