New Orientations

Originally issued in 1970, this book gathers critical essays on international relations and opens a publication series. The series editors want the essays to look ahead and often to challenge accepted views. They cover present-day international affairs in a broad sense, and they also revisit the past, particularly the recent past, since earlier events shape what happens now. Contributors are invited to offer new or reconsidered readings of international history.

The series also deliberately includes work on economic questions alongside political ones, so readers can examine how trade, money and power interact in the global arena.
