Night Broken
About This Book
Night Broken is the eighth novel in Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series, set in a world where werewolves, fae and other creatures live hidden among ordinary people. Mercy, a shapeshifter and auto mechanic, has built a life with Adam, the werewolf Alpha of the local pack. That life is thrown off balance when Adam's ex-wife, Christy, turns up again. Mercy can tell almost at once that Christy's return is not innocent. Christy wants her old husband back and is ready to do nearly anything to get him. Her plan includes working on the members of the pack to turn them against Mercy and push her out of her place beside Adam. Mercy has no intention of giving up her mate or her standing without a fight. The rivalry soon has to take second place. A far more dangerous presence is moving through the area, and bodies begin to turn up. Mercy has to set aside the feud to face a creature strong enough to wreck everything she has built. The novel mixes pack politics and personal tension with a growing supernatural threat, and it suits readers who already follow the series as well as those who enjoy urban fantasy with a strong, practical heroine.
