Night Hawk

A year after her father was gunned down, FBI agent Toni Long is still haunted by the fact that the man responsible got away. The investigation was a joint FBI and ICE operation run by Clay Byrd, the agent Toni had been secretly drawn to at the time. She blames her distraction over Clay for the missed chance to stop the killer.

When an anonymous message names the killer, Toni chases the lead alone and is nearly killed. Clay received the same tip, and he arrives in time to save her. Hoping to track down the killer and keep Toni safe, he offers the services of Nighthawk Security. Toni resists, since accepting means confronting a painful past of her own, but her need for answers outweighs her reluctance, and she agrees to work with the man she is starting to care for.

As they dig into the case, they uncover family secrets that prove more dangerous than Toni expected. Clay stays close, offering comfort and shielding her from threats, while Toni struggles to keep her feelings in check when her focus should be on the investigation and on staying alive.
