Not Alone

Growing up, Jenny Tomlin endured years of being left to fend for herself, alongside physical and sexual abuse inflicted by her father. She now campaigns for people who have been abused, and she strongly believes survivors should be encouraged to talk openly about what they went through. That conviction shapes this book, which interlaces her own path through survival with the stories of other people who have suffered rape, child abuse and domestic violence.

The accounts are presented as firsthand testimony rather than analysis. Across them run themes of endurance, bravery and the stubborn drive to build a better life after harm.
