Ogres

Village life runs smoothly and peacefully until the landlord comes calling. He is an Ogre, a being far larger and stronger than any person, and his kind holds dominion over the whole world. Ogres have always been this way, and most people accept their rule as how things must be. Now and then, they also eat people. Torquell, the son of the village headman, makes a reckless choice when he strikes the landlord's son. That single act sets him on a course toward discovering what Ogres truly are and the sinister sciences that secured their supremacy.
